This is our best expression of the outstanding fresh, vibrant fruit characters for which Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is world-renowned, combined with the individual character of the terroir of our vineyard and the winemaker’s art.
Only the very best quality fruit from our top-performing vineyard blocks is selected to make the wine. The yield is kept low and the vines are hand tended. Grapes are fermented slowly in a cooled environment to maintain the lively varietal character, and small proportion of the wine is allowed to rest on its yeast lees for four months in older French barrels to enhance texture and complexity.
The resulting wine boasts lively aromas of passionfruit, melon, fresh lemon and crisp red capsicum. Ripe honeydew melon and passionfruit flavours provide richness and weight, balanced by a zesty backbone and crisp acidity that provide flavour persistence and a long, clean finish.
It would make a delicious complement to an entrée of Bluff oysters au naturale, or a main course of grilled crayfish with coriander butter, lime zest and tomato salsa.
