This wine is made in a very limited quantity form our finest Syrah fruit from the renowned Gimblett Road area in Hawke’s Bay. We aim to make a wine that embodies the elegance of Rhone-style Syrah and captures the distinctive personality of the region.

Like our other wines in this range, the vines are managed by hand. The grape juice is allowed to rest on its skins to extract the maximum flavour and colour from the fruit. The wine is then matured in predominantly new French oak barriques for 12 months.

The wine is a bright brick red colour, with heady aromas of aniseed, blueberry and cracked black pepper, and hints of toasty oak, savoury characters and subtle smokiness. Intense fruit flavours of blueberry, redcurrant and raspberry are layered with complex savoury and spicy characters and fine, round tannins. A long, soft finish with a gracious fruit lift completes the experience.
